Hidden Treasures

Went to a thrift store in town.. and found lots of fun treasures!

This chair (above) was only $50.. and i'm thinking about going back and getting it before I go back to school..

This was a sign in one of the "aisles".. giving a price breakdown... I thought it was super cute, it was a very mellow store, with lots of fun things.. as we were wandering around the owner and her little boy were sitting on a chair in the corner while he ate some noodles and watched "Little Rascals" on one of the tv's for sale! I love thrift stores, I must go back!

Birthday Dinner!

Yesterday was my birthday and for dinner Thomas and I went out to The Lodge at Pebble Beach. We didn't just go on our own, went with Thomas' work for a company dinner with the produce conference that's in Monterey right now! The scenery, the food, the drinks, and the company was amazing! (and getting all dressed up with my man was fun too!)

After dinner, and a while into our after dinner drinks, someone spilled the beans (and Thomas swears it wasn't him) to one of the servers and out of no where the lights in the room we were in shut off and a server walked in with a pretty little dessert cake with a few candles and everyone sang to me. It was super sweet, but super embarrassing. (Interesting fact about Corinne: nothing embarrassed me, but for some reason getting the "Happy Birthday" song sang to me has always been a little weird for me.)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

Green Dress Challenge??

Soooo for any of you who remember this, you remember that back in March I started a "challenge" for myself to lose enough weight to fit into this dress by May.... I put myself on a strict diet that went ok for a while and then it just kinda went away... but since I've been home for the summer I've been eating a lot better just from being home and not eating my "college" diet. So yesterday when I was getting ready for the Jason Aldean concert I wasn't sure what to wear so I figured, what the heck, I'd try it... and I am proud to announce that it FIT!!!!!!! YEAH ME!! Granted it was pretty tight and my mom and brother had to get the zipper up.. buuuuuut back in March that zipper wasn't going up any higher than the middle of my back so I am VERY excited! Yeah me!! = ]]

Jason Aldean!!! = ]

Last night was the long awaited Jason Aldean concert in Paso Robles at the California Mid-State Fair! Thomas, his sister Tiffany and I all went. It was brilliant! Thompson Square opened for him and then he sang basically every song I could have hoped for him to sing! It was an amazing concert!

Summer Songs!

I got this idea from Amanda Noel.

Country music has been a huge thing in my life since I was about 14, but this summer, being that I don't have a broadway musical soundtrack to be memorizing, it has been a huge contributor to my summer! Here are some songs that could define my life lately...

"Dirt Road Anthem" by Jason Aldean (who, by the way, I get to see in concert tonight!)

and soooo sooo many more!

ps.. I am beyond excited for this concert tonight! Will report back later = ]

Lake Trip #5 (through the lense of retro camera!)

This weekend was project weekend at the lake! Thomas and his dad built a trellace type apperatice for shade and an patio bbq spot for out front the trailer. Those men worked their butts off in the blistering hot heat and it turned out really well!

PBR (Professional Bull Riding!)

Last night was PBR, and the first night of Rodeo!
Thomas put on his wranglers, boots and hat and I just put on my boots.. It was a fun night! One thing that happened that I thought was really cool was at the start of the night after the National Anthem, on the mic, loud enough for the entire sports complex to hear, they prayed! They asked for God to watch over the bull riders and thanked him for that evening.. it was a really really cool thing! People bowed their heads, Thomas took off his hat and then the night started. = ]]

Lake Trip #4

(Breaking in Tiffany's birthday present, the tube, and mine, the vest!)

This weekend was Lake Trip #4 to Lake Wheelus and it was quite eventful! Amanda Noel was able to join us, which I was VERY excited about, along with the rest of Thomas' family. I took lots of pictures... here are some of them and I will "explain" the weekend as we go...

Thomas, Amanda, Tiffany (Thomas' younger sister) and I all piled into his truck for the ride there, we were a little squishy but we had good music (and coffee), so it was all good!

The best friends! (Before the sun, lake water, and camping world took affect on our appearance). = ]

Amanda wanted to hit Thomas because he has a tendency to skip songs a LOT and not let songs end (I do the sammmme thing and I drive my mom nuts!)

the boy and I. = ]

Once we were looking a little more "lake-like." (Me in a camo sweatshirt and a John Deere hat? I'd call that a Kodak moment!)

ummmmmm Amanda and I BOTH shot this gun... Thomas had to show us both how to do it, but it was pretty cool!

This was either a staring contest... or something I can't explain.. this is pretty standard though. heehee

this was my early birthday present from Thomas!! I've been going to the lake with them and I've been having to barrow vests from them everytime because I didn't have my own, and I would usually wear an old one of Thomas' that didn't fit quite right and it didn't have a zipper so I had to pull it on over my head which I can't stand. Sooooo Thomas ordered me this custom vest for my birthday!! I love it!!

Amanda and I both got to "ski" a little bit... well, Amanda was successful at skiing both on double skiis and a single ski (YEAHHH GIRLL!!!) and I allllllmost got up on the single ski, it's a LOT harder than it looks. We all got to tube a bunch and at one point the side of my face flew into Amanda's back (can you say instant headache?) It was still super fun!

Successful weekend, indeed! = ]

silly snack.

Today at work I decided to go and get some chips and guacamole on my break from Chipotle! nom. (it's a tad overpriced, but pretty yummy and I get a free drink for working in the mall).

As I was sitting there eating my snack I, for the first time, decided to read what it said on the cup and I found it to be quite entertaining!

So while I ate my snack I got to listen to some country music (on the radio in the break room) and read an entertaining little rant on the side of my cup, it kinda made me happy. = ]
Now that I am home, after shopping with the best friend after my shift, I get to pack and get ready for tonight. The fam, the boy and I are going to dinner at Angelina's (a super cute little pizza place in town), then going downtown Monterey for some drinks and night life (Thomas and I, that is). Then tomorrow Thomas, his family, me and the BEST FRIEND are heading to the lake for the weekend! Sooooo excited!!
Happy Friday!!

a few (2) days off!

These last 2 days I have had off from work, imagine that! and even though they weren't suuuuuper mellow, they were pretty fun. On Tuesday morning my mom and I went over to the Hollister airport to watch my boyfriend's dad, Tim, get a ride in my grandpa's P-51 Mustang! It was pretty rad, and than after we went and got lunch at a really cute little sandwich shop called Victoria's. (<--funny, even when I'm not at work I was still at "Victoria's").

(a sign above my grandpa's hanger)
(Casey with the airplane!)

(my grandpa and Tim getting ready to take off)

(this was a really cool sign in my grandpa's hanger that said "When you're out of Mustangs, You're out of fighters.")

(the sandwich shop! it was decorated with super cute black, white and red decor!)

(my yummy "Californian" sandwich: turkey, cheese, bacon, lettuce, etc.)

After our adventures in Hollister, we ran a few errands, than went home, I did some laundry than I braved a new chicken recipe that I found in a magazine. It was called chicken fresco and it required you to basically brush the baked chicken breast with a balsamic vinagrette (made with dijon mustard, olive oil, salt and pepper, honey and balsamic vinegar) and than topped with a lemon-butter sauce (made with a dry white wine, lemon juice, fresh parsley and butter).. it actually turned out quite good! and I also made some rice and steamed zucchini! It was a surprisingly yummy dinner!!

Than today on my day off I got a lot done in my room, getting rid of old clothes, etc., had sushi for lunch with the boy (on his break from work) and than saw "Transformers 3" with my little bro Cameron! It was a realllllyyy good movie! It was a good two days off! Now back to work for the rest of the week, than lake trip #4!! = ]]

Lake Trip #3

This lake trip was a little more mellow than the usual trip. It was just me, Thomas and his dad and it was HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and there were little flies everywhere biting my legs to death. Here are a few pics from the weekend.

(Thomas on his new toy?)
(playing with picture apps!)

(coolest. socks. EVER.)

Thomas skiing!

It was a fun, hot weekend.. Next weekend the whole family plus possibly the best friend will be there! I'm looking forward to it!

a bit of the weekend, captured through the "retrocamera" = ]
