something magical.

As much as "Titanic" is considered a super chick-flick, it has also become one of the most classic love stories of our generation. I love this movie; Maegan and I went and saw it in 3D when it was re-released and it was a life-changing experience. This is seriously a brilliant film. James Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are are all timeless.

Another thing in my life that has grown to really inspire my heart is dance. Dance has been a huge part of my life and because of that... I love the show "So You Think You Can Dance," that show has brought me to tears and made my heart smile so hard over the routines that have been created on this show.
I stumbled across this piece and it blew me away.
It is a piece where the love story from the "Titanic" is danced to the song by the Righteous Brothers, "Unchained Melody."
The things that happen in this piece are something magical. The passion that pours out in the movement and through the music is unreal. The emotions that are personified in this piece are like something out of a perfect dream. This is way too brilliant; Travis Wall (the choreographer) is an insanely talented man.
Do yourself a favor and watch this!

another thing to add to the list for Fall...

I have talked a lot about the things I want to do in Fall
(diet, exercise, work, start substitute teaching, redo my bedroo, etc.)
but here's another thing I want to do...
I want to watch my favorite show of all time, Gilmore Girls, from start to finish (Seaon 1 to Season 7). I used to watch it almost every day and I miss it!
I'm gunna do it.
(In my free time of course).

food for thought...

I don't really know how to talk about this and have it be cohesive, so just know this is kind of just my stream of consciousness...
The song in the clip I added above is a song from "Titanic." For me when I hear this song, most (if not all) of the overwhelming emotions this movie makes me experience come rushing back... just from hearing it...
This song is absolutely gorgeous, as is the movie... but I what I found interesting was that the title of this song is "Never an Absolution." Now the definition for "absolution" is the one I have showing below... based on it's meaning, it gave me an interesting feeling toward the title of the song. It made me think about how unforgiving this tragedy was, and how the title is meant to be saying "Never a freeing from guilt or blame"... and this is basically one of the title songs of this movie... I just thought it gave an interesting meaning to it... what do you think?

A Black and White Affair

Lately I've been watching a lot of chick flick, big surprise, and I have noticed in a lot of these movies that when girls sit down to watch a movie, in these movies, they always watch old classic black and white films and I have realized that I haven't seen any of them! So here's what I want to start doing, and I'm not putting a time limit on this or anything, it's just something I want to start doing in my free time.. I want to start watching these movies that I haven't seen and blog about them. I have a fascination with movies, and acting and I think it would be really cool to sit down and really pick apart some of them and see how acting and films have changed over the years. I am going to try my best to start doing this over Christmas break. That is all. Happy Monday!

I am officially the biggest sap I know.

Last night Maegan, Amanda (my little) and I watched "He's Just Not That Into You" and "P.S. I love you." By the time we were watching "P.S. I love you" we had already had a few glasses of wine and let me tell you, the tears were flowing. I have only ever seen this movie one other time and there is a reason for it, I can't handle it! This movie breaks my heart more than any other "chick flick" I've seen.. but the end of the movie both Amanda and Maegan were asleep on the couch and I was sitting there in a puddle of my own tears.. I need to stop getting so emotionally invested in these movies! Oy... such a good movie though, I recommend it, but be prepared.

Across The Universe

"I've just seen a face I can't forget the time or place where we just meant she's just the girl for me and I want all the world to see we've met!.."

"All You Need is Love."

"Let it be."

"Something in the way she moves, attracts me like no other, something in the way she woo's me, I don't want to leave her now.. You know I believe in how... You're asking me will my love grow, Well I don't know..."

"Across the Universe" is a movie music will Beatles music. I had never seen it until I decided to buy it one day (it was on sale), I watched it.. and I loved it.
Now I watch this movie at least once every other week, it's become part of my life!

I love this music. It brings me back and let's me live in an era I feel as thought I was meant to be a part of. Maegan and Amanda are both convinced that I am a flower child reborn!

(My mother agrees with them.)

This is Jim Sturgess. He is the actor that plays Jude in "Across the Universe." He is beautiful, and has a beautiful voice and a beaufitul accent. = ]

a much needed relaxing Tuesday night.

Last night and today have already proven themselves to be the start of a very eventful week.
So Amanda (my little) and I decided that we were having a much needed girls night!
She came over to my apartment after her night class and we made "dinner,"
a skillet dinner that took about 10 minutes to make,
and ate that up. Then we chose what movie(s) we wanted to watch.
We decided that we first wanted to be 5, something that happens more often than not when Amanda and I join forces, so we watched "Swan Princess."*
(Always a classic).
Then we decided to be a few years older, probably about 15 or 16, and watch
(one of my FAVORITE movies through-out my "childhood").
We are just sitting on the couch, talking, giggling, and ordering pizza
for an almost midnight snack.
I love nights like this... they are relaxing... and help me to feel better about being here.
Spending some good quility time with my little isn't so bad either.

*"This isn't my idea of fun!"

Day 6

:favorite superhero and why

I just now decided, Harry Potter is a superhero! I mean, how could he not be? He survived Voldemort trying to kill him when he was a baby... granted we find out later its because he is one of Voldemort's Horcrux's, but still! He survived!! and he has been battling the most powerful dark Lord known in the wizarding world every since he entered Hogwarts! this fool has gotten himself out of so many near-death experiences it's not even funny.

I'm slightly obsessed with the Harry Potter movies and can't believe that no one has ever called Harry a superhero before... It might be because anyone with crazy powers that's not one of the "Marvel" superhero's is generally not refered to as one, but I don't care.. Harry Potter is most definitely my favorite superhero. Done.

MOVIES!!

In the past few days I have watched a few movies that I have LOVED.

The first was "Julie and Julie." This movie was soo cute and almost inspiring. Meryl Streep is hilarious and too cute! and Amy Adams played her part very well. It made me want to blog!! and learn to cook more. It was a good movie... I HIGHLY recommend it.

The next movie I saw was "The Last Song." I saw it with Amanda in theater and I cried for about the last half an hour! Nicholas Sparks is brilliant and the screen play, unlike "Dear John", followed the book pretty closely. There were a few intense moments that were left out but it was still done really well.

Lots of people didn't like it because of Miley Cyrus.. but I actually think that's really dumb because one, they most likely never even watched "Hannah Montana" EVER and just think of Miley as this annoying Disney Channel actress. But what they don't realize is that she started acting on that show when she was barely 13, if that, and it's the DISNEY channel... did anyone ever stop to think that it's the script thats cheesey not the acting? Just saying...

Anyway, back to the movie. I had read the book and cried a lot and the movie was even worse. Miley did such a great job and the actor that played Jonah, her little brother, was soo good! His acting hit me hard. This movie was intense... and the music was really good as well.

Needless to say, recently my list of movies that I wish to add to my collection is expanding rapidly.

Disney Movie Love.

It's become a new thing with my family that whenever I come home for a visit we watch a Disney movie.. or two.. or three..

I grew up watching Disney movies. One of my all time favorite movies is "The Little Mermaid." I have always been a Disney freak and Disneyland is my favorite place in the world.

Tonight we watched "101 Dalmations"! I love how when you watch a movie once your older the humor is completely different then from when you were a little kid. These movies are hilarious! Before that we watched "Peter Pan" and the last time I was home we watched "Beauty and the Beast" and the "Jungle Book".. it was brilliant!

I love that my family and I can sit around and watch Disney movies like it's deserving of an Oscar.. it's so much fun and it always makes me feel better.
