Dear Lord...

I talk to God multiple times a day... I recently discovered that keeping an open dialogue with the big man upstairs is the best way to go. Usually when I talk to God, throughout the day, it tends to be about me, or things going on in my life... but lately, there's been so much going on in this world, that it's almost been overwhelming thinking about all the things I should be talking to Him about. This world has a lot of hurt and devastation happening right now... death, sickness and natural disasters are everywhere.

Tonight, God, I want to ask you to bring peace, comfort and strength to everyone who have been effected by the tornado in Oklahoma. I want to ask that you keep a hand on the first responder's that have been out there since it happened, and that you hug those that are hurting. I want to ask again that you bring peace, closure and clarity to the Sobiech family, who lost Zach yesterday.

I have people that are close to me in my life that are sick, or hurting, or need some extra love... (I don't want to put their personal information on my blog, that's not my place), but You know who they are. Please, bless them with what they need.

I have had an overwhelming feeling lately to be constantly thanking God for all of the blessings in my life. Sometimes I get upset when I feel like I'm not doing enough, or not making enough money, or that things aren't happening fast enough for me. I have to remind myself that my cup is over flowing with the blessings I have in my life. I know that God has a very specific plan for me, He's revealed it to me. I know what I'm supposed to be doing... He has been preparing my heart, I can feel it. I also know that God is tricky, and when He asks you to be patient, BOY are you going to be challenged to be patient. I just need to rely on my faith and the love I know God has for me. He is a powerful God, that I fear. I know good things are coming soon, and when they do, all the waiting will be proven worth it, and I will be ready.

In Jesus' name. = ]

a few lists.

I'm greatful for...
-fall. (football, scarfs, boots, rain).
-the fact that i am able to go to work at a job that i know and love with people that i love.
-being able to choreograph and teach 13 wonderful little girls as their cheer coach.
-the wonderful, amazing, beautiful, generous friends and people i have in my life (no matter how far away we live from each other).
-the excitement i have inside my heart to be starting work on a new musical project, October 1st.
-my good friend Camila, this sweet lady spent 45 days in the hospital figuring out a problem with some leukemia, and yesterday she was released from the hospital!
-the awareness i gained today of what we, as wealthy Americans and Christians, can be doing to help 'the poorest of the poor' gain healing and jobs in other countries (and got some really cute stuff in the process).

I'm bumming because...
-i don't live with my sister anymore (i know it's been 2 months... but i'm still bitter about it).
-i don't have my own space. I know how lucky i am to be living rent-free.. but i'm anxious (and trying to be patient while waiting) for that time when i can journey off on my own, hopefully to San Francisco ;) , living my life.
-i feel like i am no longer surrounded by the strong, close friends i was surrounded by at school. i mean, shoot, maegan and i lived together and Keifer was just 3 doors down.. and i had all my Greek system friends, and theatre people! i was truly surrounded, and it was fabulous... and i don't feel like i have that here.

I'm praying for...
-peace. lately i've been struggling with this. i've been having some mood swing issues and i've been pretty irritable and i don't like it at all. i can tell when i'm doing it and i don't like it.
-guidance. i need God to show me my next step and show me what he is doing with me in my 'waiting.'
-healing and acceptance. i have not been doing well with accepting all of the changes that have been happening in my life (not living with Maegan, therefore living at home, Amanda getting married and moving.. Camila getting sick)...
-my husband. i have no idea who this man is... i don't know if i know him, or not.. i have no idea when he will come into my life or what he will even look life.. but i know that God has been preparing him for me and me for him, our whole lives.. i pray for the time that he will come into my life and change it forever. i am extremely exciting for this.

thought upon thoughts.
keep peace..

9.11.12

I found this precious video of Kris Allen singing "God Bless the USA" at a special Memorial Day celebration and I decided to share it in honor of today.

Eleven years ago our country was changed forever.
I heard an army wife today talking on the radio about how September 11, 2001 effected her life. Through some tears she went on to say, "I am thankful for what September 11th was because without it we wouldn't have had September 12th.." That was really wise to me. She was recognizing the tragedy of that day with the further realization that without it we wouldn't have come together with such strength and pride as a country. I thought that was really cool.

Where were you on 9/11/01? Hold old were you? What did you feel?
Never forgotten.
God bless.

Thoughts..

Sometimes I like to think my soul looks a little like this.
When I take naps, no matter what time it is, I change back into my pj's.
I'm a whiskey and beer drinking kinda gal.
One day, I want to marry my best friend.
I want my job to require me to wear a rehearsal skirt and character shoes everyday to the "office."
Without music.... or theatre..... or dance.... I don't know who I'd be.
Michael Buble. Andy Grammer. Jason Aldean. (3 men that can always make my day better).
I can't watch Titanic with anyone other than Maegan.
If I could have 4 tattoos I would.
I watch a lot of TLC.
I'm younger in my head than I am in real-life.
I want to adventure, to see things, to experience things, to learn things.

first bachelorette weekend (ever)!

in about an hour I will be heading to Palm Springs for the weekend with these 2 ladies (plus 3 more) for my little Amanda's bachelorette weekend! I am way too excited!
These girls are my world. These last few years wouldn't have happened without them and I cannot wait to be wearing another matching outfit (oh, recruitment) with my beautiful roommate as we stand behind this amazing woman on her wedding day.
Yeah for vacations! = ]
Happy Weekend!

Happy Trails..

ok. soo the last few days have been insanity, and i've been having to face it (more or less) alone. on Monday morning my mom dropped me off at the San Jose airport. the plannn was that I was going to fly from San Jose to Dallas than jump onto a connecting flight only 45 minutes later, and fly from Dallas to Colorado Springs. I was supposed to be in Colorado Springs by about 3:45pm Monday. That did NOT happen, to say the least.

First of all, all kinds of flights were getting delayed coming in and leaving from Dallas so airplanes were getting backed up on the runways, so once we got to Dallas we sat on the runway, just sat there, not moving for close to 45 minutes. Because of this, most of the connecting flights were getting delayed as well. So once I finally got off the plane I had to RUN across the airport to make my connector. (Of course the gate I needed to get to was on the other side of the world). Ok. So I get there, find out that they were in final boarding and that they had given my seat away to someone who had a standby ticket because I wasn't there in time.

Ok. So, I freaked out momentarily. Then kinda went into frustrated/problem solving mode. So I got a boarding pass for a flight leaving at 8:55 (it was only about 4 when this happend) and a standby boarding pass for a flight leaving at 7:30. Long story short, they were BOTH cancelled.

So, now what? I was alone. In Dallas. and didn't have a flight out of there until 11:15 the next morning. Do I stay the night alone in the airport on a cot? alone? or do I try and figure out what hotel nearby I can stay at. So I start calling any and all hotels within a 5 mile radius of the airport (being that I was going to have to take a taxi there and back) and there were NO vacancies ANYWHERE! The only place I could find was 27 miles away and cost $99 to stay there.... this did NOT sound like a good plan at all but I didn't have much of a choice.

Then Thomas calls me. He had also been calling places and just happened to be in the phone with a hotel a mile away from the airport when they had a cancellation so now had 1 available room. Without hesitation he gave them his credit card number, and called me to tell me he had booked me a room. He. Saved. My. Life. When I expressed my gratitude he simply said, "Hey! I have a girl to keep safe and happy!" He's amazing.

So, the next day, I go back to the airport in preparation to fly from Dallas to Arkansas, then Arkansas to Denver. So.... long story short (again) that plan got scrapped when the first flight was delayed, and I was NOT about to get stranded in Arkansas! So I got a for sure boarding pass for a flight going straight to Colorado Springs at 3, but the weather was supposed to get the worst between 3 and 5 so this made me nervous. So I got a standby boarding pass for a flight to Denver at 12:30 and thank the LORD I got on that flight. (But really, I was praying my face off). So I finally got my booty to Denver.

Looooonnnng Story short, I finally got to Colorado Springs, almost a day later than I thought I would, and now I feel like I can take on the world (or at least any airport) on my own.... and with Thomas to find me places to stay. *sigh* Crazy, crazy time.

So Smart and So Pretty.

Every person has a different story, a different past and a different perception of the world.

As you become closer to a person... and hear about all of their stories and percetions of the world, you walk through a door into a new world, their world.

I've been bitten..

by the travel bug!
There are sooooooo many places I want to go.
To experience.
To live at.
I just want to pack a bag and go.

I've been thinking a lot about life and money lately...
and thinking about how, yes, of course it's smart to save money,
but to an extent.

There's no point in saving money now, that you can always be saving later,
or for things that you will be working toward later on in life.
Example, I don't need to be putting money away now for a house!
I don't even know who I'm going to be buying this house with...
I can save for that later.

I also don't need to die with money,
or save money and not be able to use it until i'm in my 60's and may
not be able to enjoy it the way I would now!
I also think traveling can be easier and simpler if I do it in my 20's than
if I wait to do it later...

I want to go to:

London
Paris
France
Liverpool
Greece
New York
Australia
Tennessee
Graceland
North Carolina

I think as soon as I finish school...
and before I enter the real grown-up world,
I'm going to have to take out a loan
(and use some of my own money of course)
and just

go.
